Poems about Race
Growing up in a world where we see many different faces.
They come from all around the globe, all types of places.
They tell us that we are free, but are we really 'free'?
Bounded and affected by the oppression against me
Who am I?
Am I defined by my race or pigmentation
Or does my beastly action define my litigation
We both have history.
You had ancestors that were slaves at one point,
I had ancestors that were slaves at one point.
Come on now, I'll lead us through this darkness, I’ll provide us the light to proceed,
Come on now, I'll lead us through this darkness, I’ll provide us the light to proceed,
Equality is something fought for
Yet this war has yet to stop
Hasn’t anyone noticed we don’t need this anymore?
