Great Perhaps
In a world where I can be okay
i'll confess my sins
and won't dwell on the cut communication
i won't Divide the world into versions of me or You
Alice’s army,
Topsy-turvy,
Too pretty to fight.
Their skirts flow in the air
and swords impale the ground;
Battle-torn scraps float on the breeze,
I’ve wondered if I was mad,
If I am a Hatter,
Without his hat,
Or if I am an invisible cat,
With a stripped pattern,
And a large,
Disturbing grin.
For it have come in,
Once upon a time,
On an ordinary day,
I pondered to myself
Whether or not I ought to make a daisy chain.
Was the effort of rising,
On a summer day, hot,
Worth the pleasure of tying
You know her as Alice
The girl in the blue dress
In your story she wasn’t full of malice
But in my story she’s quite full of politesse
Yes when she returned home
I will not start with once upon a time.
This is not past tense.
This is now.
Every day.
Every second. Every minute.
Looking in the looking glass,
Once upon a time, there was a teenaged girl on a vacation with her sister, mother, and father.
After running out of data and battery, Alice's iPhone needed a charger.
Oh Alice, Alice
Where did you go
You tripped and stumbled
Right down a rabbit hole.
Oh Cheshire, Cheshire
What do you know
Your heart was on fire
Now its stone cold.
Behind the ivy leaves is where I again find
A small door. I crawl through on my second trial-
I thought this was all in my puzzled mind
Until I see the Chesire Cat's familiar smile.
On a warm sunny day
In the middle of May
Allie Lovell was sitting.
She wasn’t a normal girl – she hated knitting
And being polite made her want to start hitting.
So on that warm sunny day
Swallow the pill, down the whole bottle, savor the cake, and watch the smoke billow,
As a cheshire smile forms on your face, you feel at ease, like you're finally in place.
The White Rabbit
Rushed as always
Led her to her destiny
A watch to keep time
Which never ends
Time is man made concept
Down the rabbit hole you say?
No, no, no darling you are mistaken.
Down a corridor and through a doorway,
That is where you were taken.
Tumbling down the rabbit hole
I saw but one tiny brown mole
There were tiny treats and a hidden key
But nothing sweet enough to please me
What a strange and twisted fate, that of Alice dear.
She walks around in a dream, no common sense of fear.
I am the watcher of the land, secretive and rare,
We will meet soon dear Alice, I'll appear from thin air.
She escaped the world so full of hate and turmoil.
Her life a mess,
Her reality frightening and uncertain.
Becoming distant, hostile and detatched.
It's as if she were gone, as if she cracked.
Oh dear sweet Alice,
Pure heart of white roses.
The queen is coming for you
With all the king’s horses.
You seem ill Alice.
Are you feeling alright?
Didn't your mother ever warn you
alice was the daughter of a senator and a socialite.
campaign trails were her cradle,
media scandals her bottle.
the perfect family,
blonde-haired, blue-eyed,
How many impossible things are there before breakfast?
Is it five or seven?
Maybe even ten or eleven?
I used to know
So long ago,
Someone else will know, I trust
If Alice fell down once and went insane,
then I must be the Hatter, quite absurd.
If rabbit holes could turn one's thoughts inane,
my life must be a burrow, so I've heard.
i once thought madness was externally
I'm sure we've all heard the tale of the girl named Alice
The one who fell down the rabbit hole, and was chased from the Card Palace
Who spoke with flowers, and attended the Mad Tea Party
Soft pattering on the roof,A steady blanket of feather-light rain bathes my house. The dark periwinkle color peeking in through the blinds; It's safe. Paws padding softly over to the window,
Alice came with me to a far away land. At least this one wasn't filled with sand. She handed me a page from the ground. And found a trail that wound and wound. We followed it through the trees And through the clear We followed it to the hole,Tha
Lost in your world I see,Such magic, creativity,Your a divine soul full of wonder,Stuck in the land of slumber.
I wish there was a lullaby
that sang itself to sleep.
A melody that I could play
and tell of in my dreams.
I wish there was a fairytale
Down the deep dark rabbit hole
Lies a heart, mind and soul
Been there for year
This is not your Alice in Wonderland rabbit hole
My dear
No no no
This hole has only one way in and no way out
Pure. That's what they call me anyway. Like the snow that drifts lazily from
the sky to the earth.
One.
Two.
Three.
I fall. I drop. I flit. I flutter. I dance. I slip.
Down and down and down.
Titter tatter
Pitter patter
Up the swing
Beyond the ladder
And that's where you'll find the wonderfully mad
Absurdly distinct
Derisively deranged
Those glowing eyes
Your glowing eyes
Like stars shining above
Your crescent smile
I adore you so
But why?
Why does your mischievous nature
Haunt my psyche?
Mad as a hatter they
Always say.

Head or so he says.
Always watching over me,
Thinking that I wouldn't notice him there,
Thinking that I'd be better off with out him.
Adored by all.
Loved by the light of day or during the dark of night.
Irreplacable if lost to time and endless wonder.
Calm even in the threat of danger.
Everything fell into place when she fell down that hole.
Abstract.
I feel as though all I am is all that is abstract. That everything that seems to be, merely
How funny!
You fell down, down, down
Because of a cute little bunny
He’s late, you know
So don’t delay!
If you follow, you’ll get carried away.
Big and Small and Tall again
Deep underground,
miles down
is a world non understand.
The crystalline skies
the rainbow flies
the sign says Wonderland.
See the rabbit hole
the life they stole
Alice of the blue.
Little girl, why did you follow the White Rabbit? Why did you follow him down the rabbit hole??Of course you wouldn't have known, you're only just an innocent little girl burning with curiosity.
Sometimes I feel like I am a lie.
Not my life, but myself.
Looking into the mirror I see…
Past the small-lipped grin
Past the curious eyes
What
Am
I?
Push and pullBring me closerAnd furtherFrom deathAnd life.I have neither. No life can be happyWith the thought of an endNo death can enjoyAny aspect of life.
Across the Pond,
And into the Rabbit Hole,
I promised myself I'd never fall again.
But Alas,
I did,
I fell,
And down I went,
Into the Rabbit Hole,
Across the Pond.
When I landed,
"Let's pretend we're kings and queens."But our kingdom has yet to be seen.If our world has a population of twoThan who will survive longer, me or you?"Do let's pretend that I'm a hungry Hyaena, and you're a bone."
Tick-tock, tick-tock, goes the White Rabbit’s watch,
The starry night will talk as the door goes
Knock-knock-knock like the winding clock on scotch,
Has the Queen lost her mock-mock-mock woes?
