The vail has been lifted
We now see through liesOthers sell themselvesTo raise armies
And build walls
Our souls miles apart
I am only overwhelmed with pure joy;
It is when I take in that sweet fresh air.
The smell of rain lingers as a decoy,
It's a distraction to the lack of care.
I.
The first day I realized
freedom is not free without a cost,
I was thirteen—
when we read To Kill a Mockingbird
and I could not help but think
When incorrect feelings cloud my thinking and it feels into darkness im sinking i just see a world where....where Cain had never did it, he tried to lift the rock but in his soul he felt convicted
who could love these chocolate bones?
when society kills my serenity with stones.
oppression and depression is now all I know,
when society has stolen every joy I once bestow.
Do you know how scary it really isTo see a child begging for a mother’s kissBut you don't have the guts to tell him the newsHe'll never get it all be
The sounds of blameless sounds rang upon my ears and every things went wrapping against,
At different interflows were the unintended collusions of bleeding leaves crying sweet red,
WE are the children of America
The children of those who traveled land and sea.
The children of those who plowed fields and picked trees.
Once upon a time,
In a modern, utopian world,
There was no such thing as "hungry".
Every human being would go to sleep each night healthy and satisfied.
Once upon a time,
The day started smooth and had a groove reminiscent of rythm & blues.
The day kicked off right, it was bright, so bright that it would have lit the sky on the darkest of nights.
Brutal chills, death knocking
Dearest Mother
Has lost become your name? gone? away?
This path that has left us both astray
Searching for my mother has left me down despair
Oh say can you see
By the dawn’s early light
Narcissism and bureaucracy
Have distorted our sight
Oh say can you see
Our criminal justice system favors the rich
As the flag goes up
Many heads lower downward
While it's wave taunts us.
The Americans
Aren't all the same people;
Quite the contrary.
Some are highly proud
As the flag goes up
Many heads lower downward
While it's wave taunts us.
The Americans
Aren't all the same people;
Quite the contrary.
Some are highly proud
Our leader nested in a cage.
Error evoked from their brain, thinking its time for a new page.
A new page of dominance, as to confiscate the minds of my peoples past.
Nevertheless, we will never be the last.
This is the truth:
Other countries look at us and don't understand
Why we haven't yet learned to love.
We are not treated equally.
We do not understand our own people.
We are raised to hate,
A year ago, I stood at the edge of a cliff
A steep drop-off to the unknown.
I did not know
if I jumped off the edge
I would discover I was able to fly.
Many use the words "World Peace"
In pageants to win a crown
In speeches to win elections
In debates to win a trophy
The day we go and find the moon is down,Shall be a day of justice for the earth. We all must burn to find the fired crown.'Cause we're inclined to fight and show our worth.
I have a dream that there will be world peace
Having the ability to walk alone
Able to breath without scarcity
View of the sky without darkness
Many people see equality as something that brings races togetherWhen in reality it adds a brand new fatality to the people you don’t like, and it’s not even a fair fight.I always hear people say“The whites oppressed the blacks”Or“The blacks are op
I realize
you ask me
what is the one thing I need
But to be true
What I need is you
And you and you and you
WE.
Together, we are strong
Together, we are good
In the distant, there is a broken mirror,
I can’t see myself clearly,
Yet the promises that it upholds bring me peace…
Peace.
Drenched upon the battle fieldUnder silver weapons wieldMisdirection her only shieldThe wildest of roses grew
Brazen, blazin sunshine
and exposed lines
of joy on each other’s faces:
Smiles too wide for our lips.
May we brighten the world;
You say you want WOLD PEACE
but your not willing to fight
for the one thing you believe
you think its impossible
for the sun to shine on everyone a
the same time I believe
I let it all out, I know they heard me. My tongue just kept flowing in between my teeth. I hope they feel me for what I meant. I spoke all those words and the message was sent. I want those words to hit hard so they finally realize.
Changing
More than your clothes
More than your appearance
Start with yourself, and look deeply
Inside
Leading
More than yourself
More than what's expected
If I could do anything,
I swear i'd have the world changing.
i'd make everyone's lives better,
create world peace and end hunger.
Cure cancer, end abuse-
keep someone from hanging a noose.
If I could change one thing so small,
A thought, a word, a friendly call,
I would change the hearts of men
To turn from gold and wealth times ten,
And turn instead to their brothers plights,
When the winds ice your cheek
And the pedals are at work,
You look to the world around you
And you wear a gentle smirk.
The leaves are racing along the road
When will there be peace in the world?
I ask this as a man of hope
I believe there will be a day for every boy and girl
Where they will be untied by love
If the grass fought the soil,
there'd be no land
If the land fought the sea,
there'd be no Earth
If the artery fought the vein,
there'd be no heart
And if the heart fought the blood,
So that my kids don't have to witness deceit.
So that my kids won't have to meet defeat.
So that my kids won't have to live on the streets.
So that the true justice may be served!
If the blood fought the muscle,
there'd be no heart
If the heart fought the brain,
there'd be no life
If the grass fought the soil,
there'd be no land
And if the land fought the sea,
On my hands and knees I pray
For this world to see a new, brighter day.
Not with the eyes of humans we should see,
But with the eyes of how it was meant to be.
I'm glad that we're diverse, with all these different traces.
I look around my class, and I see different faces.
I walk around the school, and there are different races.
If not for MLK then all this would not be.
we speak the same language
or different ones
it doesn’t matter
we eat the same foods
or maybe not
also irrelevant
we lead distinctly different lives
forget all that
stare across the fence
I dream of a place where there are no countries fighting,
There will be no more wars,
And no more innocent people dying.
Why can't these dreams be achieved?
Because man is selfish and mean,
