Like the weapons that they were

Thu, 12/06/2018 - 01:27 -- Fishboy

Your words dropped to the floor like the weapons that they were,
For you cared not for what you meant to me,
For you cared not that your words stung like a slap to the face,
And you cared not that my tears mingled with the blood from my broken heart,
Dripping to the floor.

And I thought to myself that I must clean before it stains,
Before you leave a stain on what used to be my perfect life.

So I stood there silently,
Saying nothing,
For words,
In this kind of situation,
Reveal your flaws,
Your needs,
Your wants.

And I will not give you the satisfaction of wielding that power.
