Primal in beat, with ascending crescendos of melody
Passionate in rhythm, emoting steady confident surety
Smooth in lyric, and punctured with syncopated sophistication.
However all I've encountered are casual cadences
Slow moving dirges with stumbling tempos
Atonal refrains with unimaginative lines
Short-term dalliances with pretty tunes
But no soul beyond a pipe dream
Lost in the taste of a lingering fugue.
