The older I get, the more I realize that there is nothing more precious than time,

And that once I let it go, I can never get back something that is no longer mine.

And that you can not waste a second of the time that you have remaining,

And that you need to keep a smile on your face and keep moving forward, even if it is raining.

And I have learned over time, that the best thing you can do is learn to dance in the rain,

Because that is the best way to keep moving forward, despite the pain.

And I know that you only go through what you are capable of dealing with,

And that being told that time is the most valuable thing is definitely not a myth.

No matter what card you have been dealt in life, you only have one no matter what,

So it is important to keep going, and to never allow yourself to fall into a rut.

It can be easy to get discouraged when things gets hard,

But it is up to you if you choose to move past it, or allow it to leave you scarred.

I have learned that we are not who we surround ourselves with, or even who we were once in the past,

Because, no matter if they are good or bad, these things will never last.

That is why we need to be grateful for every second that we had,

And be thankful for every moment that we got to love, both the good and the bad.

Even though life has put me through some tough shit,

I have realized over the past couple of months that I am strong enough to handle it.

That no matter what, I kept going even when I wanted to quit,

Because I know that it's not about how hard you can hit, but about how hard you can get hit.

The stupid little things that I never want to do, I now understand that I need to be grateful to do them,

Because I do have it better than some.

And there are people who wish they could do those things, but for many reasons they can not,

And these are the types of things that you can't take for granted, because they can not be bought.

I no longer want to take a single second for granted, or waste any more time,

Because I have finally made up my mind.

That this is my life, and I am going to do everything that I had planned,

And for the first time in my life, I am going to take a stand.

That every goal I had planned for myself will come true,

Because it is up to me who I am, and what I choose to do.
