Behind the Mask

Location

A mirror stands before me

Whispers of hate and laughter surround me

They point out the outside flaws

So I put on a mask to hide the hurt and the pain

People say the words of the tongue is just the breeze

Just a mocking bird

But it's like they never lived

Those words are sharp edges to a knife

Cutting me up inside until there is nothing left

But I am a survivor

I am strong

So now when I stand before that mirror, i can now take off the mask
