always hope

Holding you firm while opening a birthday gift
Only five years old, with
Plenty of high expectations for a firetruck. It’s
Everything that you could’ve imagined,
A Beacon of Hope
By Arjun Akwei
To the lost man on the mountain,
hope is finding the right path
What I require is
What most people desire
Not power or absolute control
But hope
That is all I need
Dare I ask what tomorrow brings
Another day of temptation to reach my hope
Yet I am prepared, even if it stings
As long as there's hope,
the smallest boy still gets up
after a fall.
As long as there's hope,
the weakest patient still walks
after an operation.
As long as there's hope,
We all get screwed up in the end.
Life screws us up.
We all face our own battles.
Wage our own wars.
Concur our own enemies.
And fall down at our own turns.
On an island
somewhere far away
With just myself
I fend for my sanity
All I need is hope
something to strengthen my bones
A way to persevere
with just a state of mind
Hope is essential
The last year, one last chance to make a mark.
My mark, what will it be? I am just discovering
who I am and I feel it's too late. Days keep going,
I try to come to terms with it. For me, high school is ending.
She stood still with fear
The fear made her queer
It had been over a year
Since she last saw her dear.
She stood at the exit
Reluctant to leave
She stood there wishing
With a hopeful belief.
A world in darkness,
Barren stone,
Evil whispers
broken bone.
People crying,
Hope does fade
Into the darkness,
Shrouded shade.
People dying,
Help they cry,
Sometimes i wish people would look at me and see that im not okay
that most nights i cry myself to sleep
