Poems from upnorthdavid
David grew up in Mexico. He brings a unique perspective to life in rural Michigan. Most of his poems are written spontaneously, as things catch his attention or humor him. Some of his pieces are lighthearted while others broach deeper subjects.
Coffee, DIY projects, and writing are his passion. Most his poems are structured, but he does enjoy writing free verse writing from time to time.
Across the room I see her
Her eyes, like oceans, wide
The deepest blue, and stormy,
find me: I cannot hide
-
She is one quite familiar
How...
Tiny dancer, fastened to her tree
High above; the earth below.
Poised, ready: autumn prompts
Costumed, she tiptoes close...
-
She's dressed...
With humbled hearts, Our Father, we come to you this day,
Expressing heartfelt gratitude for blessings sent our way
*
We ask you to forgive...
If Saturday's a Saturday
No getting up, I'll stay
Wrapped in my bed,
I feel half dead
"Just let me be!" I'll say
*
If Saturday's a Saturday...
Today my life surrendered
Before Thy feet I lay
A willing, living offering
I now to Thee convey
-
And in Thy hands, Thy bidding
To do...
