Sparkle
Across the room I see her
Her eyes, like oceans, wide
The deepest blue, and stormy,
find me: I cannot hide
-
She is one quite familiar
How oft I've longed before
To capture her affection:
To open her heart's door
-
I've tried, yet failed the courage
To speak to her out-right.
I follow from a distance,
While keeping her in sight
-
They draw me in; I'm taken
A pris'ner of their will
Demanding full surrender:
They move, I follow still
-
Am I somehow mistaken:
Was it her eyes I met?
Turn away, then back again
To gaze on this coquette.
-
Her pale white skin is flawless
Youth's blush upon her cheek
Gentle lines surround her lips
Increasing her mystique
-
It's cat and mouse. Steal a glance;
Resume the task at hand.
Ignore my rising, fluttered heart
It's flame now fiercely fanned
-
She looks again, away, now back
I swim into her eyes
So deep, these waters, deep!
Uncharted. What do they disguise?
-
First I see it, slight, then full
A sparkle lights her eyes
This radiant light moves rapidly
Like lightning in the skies
-
I'm warmed, assured, ecstatic
Her sparkle draws a grin
I nod and then wave awkwardly
Exuberant within
-

Ok read this too, powerful and fiery as you express the attraction and how she has you enamoured. I laughed at 'coquette ' how you rhymed that in was clever like the rest of your rhyming. Ok kudos again for this sensational poem.
Very interesting poem, hope you continue to share your verse!
