I am a young black woman who can only be herself. I see no color but am constantly classified by it. I am a serious dreamer. I do dream of a world where we all work in perfect harmony. My poems are a reflection of my life, thoughts, and emotions.

When she watched the love filled movie with the happily ever after
She was hit with all of her happily never afters
All the times they beat...
The sky darkened
And just when they thought mother nature would not betray them
She let loose her wail of anger
Letting it be known that...
Complicated
Usually when people hear that word
They RUN FOR THE HILLS
Why?

As a society complicated means...
I see blood
Blood everywhere
It's not in their veins
But on the very soil and sand we walk upon
Bleeding into oceans
