Who We Once Were

And the way we once were,
still thrived in the past.
But the mistakes we had made,
were still in the back of our minds.

And the sudden light,
the one that had shined so bright,
it was left behind,
forever hidden in our forgetfulness.

Yet, we still wish for who we were,
still desiring the past.
But the mistakes held us back,
haunting our memories.

Yet, the light of the sunset,
the one that had ended the day,
it was forgotten in the distant sky,
left for the darkness to arrive.
