self-love (6/14/20)

beauty is perpetually imperative to my existence.

i pride myself on the fact that i can view even the ugliest things as breathtaking and groundbreaking,

although others may look at me and see merely vanity and inhumanity.

but i am more than others' perception of me;

more than the frail sparkle of light beaming through their limited lenses;

more than the whispered words of hatred that slowly creep from behind my back into the vessels of my brain.

i am a beacon of sunshine, not a surge of darkness.

i am a hopeful optimist, not a clueless dreamer.

i am beautifully golden,

and i will let no one tell me otherwise.
