Salvation Denied

As I lay waiting for sleep I pray.
I pray for a glimmer of light in a sea of darkness.
For the fear to end

Its quiet I know but it’s a deadly silence--
The quiet before the storm.
I pray for help only to be denied once more.

Shouts Sound through the air in the room below.
A scream of pain rends the air.
It shoots straight through my heart.

I cover my head and wait for the one sided battle to end
As I wait, I pray
I pray for salvation only to be denied.

Life is Hell. It'll try to bring you to your knees but you just have to keep standing back up.
