Pandora's Text
Jinx knew she was in trouble when she saw his name flash across her screen.
He, the almightly nail-painter, combat-boot-wearer, bipolar feelings-fucker,
he needed her.
I mean, she was assuming that's what this was about.
There was no way in hell she was opening that message.
Nope, nope, nope.
All her friends had told her not to,
how he was manipulative and conniving,
how he played with her with this power, this control, and
she was going to listen to them.
Jinx, the new, post-e-boy, independednt modern woman knew better.
but...
What if he just wanted to return her scrunchie?
or, like, needed help with homework?
What if he needed advice,Β
or a place to crash while his dad tore the house apart?
It's not like the world would end if she just peeked.
Just left him on read for a while and then replied with "k."
She reached for her phone.
It buzzed again, and with a sudden, desprate motion, she hit the unlock button and swiped up to messages.
You have two new messages.
She knew that.
and,
knowing she was breaking every resolution she'd made the first (or was it second?) time he broke her heart,
she tapped on his name.
The monster was released,
all her feelings came rushing back,
and he had her again.
Forever.
