Our Utopia
Brown, Black or White
What makes us different?
Praying Sundays, Fridays, or Saturdays
What makes us different?
I want to live in a world where there’s no division
I want to live in a world where a Muslim can walk in a room and no one feels threatened
I want to live in a world where people understand the importance of each other’s culture
What defines us?
Is it the way we go to sleep at night
Or the way we eat our food
Don’t you get it?
It’s simple
A Jew can be friends with a Christian
Or a Muslim
Or a Hindu
Let’s go back to how we lived as a kid
Let’s go back to that mindset
Where we had nothing but innocence
Where everyone was a friend
No matter where they are from or what they do
I don’t want to see war
I don’t want to see children getting killed before they get to see the world
I don’t want to see the streets filled with the blood of innocent people
I don’t want to see a five year old witnessing their own mother getting murdered right in front of them
I want to live in a world where you see the beautiful eyes of Syrians or Palestinians or Egyptians filled with hopes and dreams and no despair
I want to live in a world where we all seek help for those who truly need it
Like the children in Uganda who have to walk miles just for a sip of water
And in those miles searching for one of the only things keeping them alive, they lose their lives, get raped or kidnapped
Do you see what our world has become?
We have turned on each other
We blame each other for every wrong doing
Why does our world believe in collective punishment?
Why is it that the only thing people remember about Muslims is 9/11 even though all their religion truly preaches is peace
Why is it that people still cringe at the sight of a group of African Americans
Why is it that a women is still petrified to walk the streets alone at night worried she would be “asking for it”
Just because a single person may have done something they regret
Doesn’t mean everyone should take the blame
Take a look at our world
Do you see a future?
Lets work together to make the next generation unaware of war or violence
Let’s work together now so years to come they wouldn’t have this
Black, brown, or white
We are all people
Monotheistic, polytheistic, or atheist
We are all people
Gay, straight or Bi
We are all people
Let’s work now and build our Utopia
