Misconceptions of the Individual Mind

She looks up at the clouded sun

For the thousandth time today

Feels the worlds ambience around her

Will she ever feel love?

She peaks around the corner

Of that dark brick building

Of course there’s no one there

She is always alone.

She sits on a tree stump

Tapping her feet on the ground

To her own rythem

On her own time.

She wonders about the names

Constantly swimming through her mind

She worries for them

Wishes them happiness

The sun becomes bright,

The sky a vibrant blue,

Yet she recedes to the darkness

Afraid to be noticed by a bright eye.

She does not wish to be seen

Because people simply

Do not wish to see her

She’ll forever hide in the darkness of her

Misconceptions.
