The Mask

There's a smile on your face

But I know that you're in pain

Your silent tears leave no trace

But things just aren't quite the same, and

There's no reason for you to hide

Behind the mask you have created

Your practiced smiles are perfectly timed

Your heart has already been raided

And those thiefs were none to kind

They stole something with such beauty

And left behind a soul taught of cruelty

And she hides behind a mask

To fend off any more attacks

It's like the ceiling is caving in

And the tears are at the brim

Of pouring out

But that is not an option

Now her soul is up for auction
