I Do Not Hate You

No matter what I may say, I do not hate you,

I do not hate you, I love you,

And the only person I truly hate is myself

Simply because I thought you were different,

I thought you would stay and be there on my bad nights,

And I thought we would celebrate in the day

Because we were here, young, alive, and together

But you did the same thing anyone else would have done,

And for that, I cannot blame you,

I cannot be disappointed

In you or anyone but myself,

Because I expected you to stay.
