Cherishing Yesterday

Cherishing Yesterday by Lindsey Faith Hoyt

Family means we are together,

Even when living far apart.

Memories give us much to hold on to,

And delight us to think of what we’ve shared.

Those precious days where we sat laughing,

Holding onto our stomachs so joy would not burst us.

While walking down shaded sidewalks,

We wished we could extend summertime.

Oh to feel the warmth of these happy days a bit more,

But you must go and I must let you.

Time flies when you least desire,

And I sit cherishing yesterday.
