Battered and Bruised

No one gets you.

No one wants to.

Why bother fighting,

When no one else is trying?

Everyone doubts you.

No one believes.

No one has faith,

That someday you'll succeed.

So how do you face,

The long odds and the foes?

You hold your head high,

and bear the brunt of the load.

Someday they'll see.

Someday they'll know.

Or so you can hope,

Though they'll never say so.

One word of wisdom,

From the battered and bruised.

Though your heart feels the chill,

You are never alone.
