(Back to) The Simple Times

Flashback to the simple times

Your skinny jeans black, your t-shirt white

‘Cause now you're covered up in layers and lies

It seems you've forgotten we had one hell of a ride

So let’s just go back, to the simple times

Met you in the summer and I thought you were the one, but

Then you went and left, didn't even say we're done

You had me there hangin' I was under the impression

That I meant something to you more than just a constant presence

Thought we were in love thought you'd stay with me forever

But it hasn't even been a year and all our ties are severed

Flashback to the simple times

Your skinny jeans black, your t-shirt white

‘Cause now you're covered up in layers and lies

It seems you've forgotten we had one hell of a ride

So let’s just go back, to the simple times

I knew deep down you'd never care for me

But I was blinded by beautiful simplicity

Maybe if we went back things could change

Or maybe they should just stay the same

Long gone are the simple times

Your jeans aren't as skinny; a jacket covers up that white

Cause you tried to hide behind layers and lies

But I haven't forgotten we had one hell of a ride

I know we can't go back

No, we can't relive the past

But sometimes, I'd really like to go back

To the simple times
