Dear womanhood, you've been a vague stranger nearly all my life, you've set unrealistic boundaries, you've made me feel lesser, you've set me apart from all the other girls.
I said i'm going to rise to the top of the mountain....wait wait wait...
I said I'm going to rise to the top of the mountain.
Stand on this stage declaring my Name, say.
Because I am a king, ayee.
Black curly hair, and smiles with a pearly glare
I like that,
these words remind im more than just "black"
and that I have a voice i can speak back
Pretty, yet
I write for the troubled young boys and girls
With shattered dreams
And broken homes
Those who depend on the streets to raise them
Guns to train them
And Friends to tame them
