I hope tomorrow never comes.
Tonight to last forever.
If we wake to the sun,
rays on our face,
it's too late.
I'll know theres no time to leave this place.
Morose feeling inside.
The picking at my fingers has begun, according to the open scabs on my thumb and index finger, the sun is under its covers.
It's dark again.
I used to pray
I used to say it was all pretend
Then no one was watching.
The lights went out
My body was sucked away
I couldn't go back
I shouldn't go back
Fear weighs down heavy on your back
The creaking of the door or the flickering of the lights
Your heart beats faster and your muscles tense up tight
Afraid to face the next attack
Just get over it, she said.
Were these words simply a cruel joke?
I never expected to hear them
From the walking medical degree in a lab coat.
Shouldn’t you be smarter than that? I wanted to scream.
Its blinking button eyes
Lashes Plucked
Clean conscience lies
Demons of possess
Its ragged red dress
Hides in the shadows; tireless
Awakened by the silver moon
Loom through loom
