I'm perfect
like the story of Hercules.
Represented by Courage and Glory,
Masculinity and Strength,
Pleasure and virtue.
Chosen by light, and
offered one of two lives.
I'm perfect
I have stardust in my spine,
with veins that flow full of meteorites.
Worlds infinite.
Stars are born inside my lungs,
where nebulas collapse, crumple.
Universes expanded.
I am no stone
I am fluid like the tide
Being born in the flood
In the water the sky had cried
Woven baskets slip along the Nile still
Wonder among the fruitless fronds
I am worthless.
I have acne.
Isn't that natural?
I am worthless.
I am overweight.
In whose definition?
I am worthless.
I am too short.
By whose standards?
Your sad facedoesn’t erase my picture from the front pageof the newspaperI may not be better than youBut I’ve made a decent shotAnd hit the bulls eyeI’m ready for the world now
"Beauty is pain."
The phrase I was raised on.
My mom, my grandmother, my great grandmother-
Whether it was while brushing my difficult hair, or applying mascara to my innocent and eager eyes before school,
I am flawless
Strong and overly proud
Peppy personality with killer sarcasm
Yet I am flawless
And you nor anyone can convince me otherwise
One. I go to the doctor's office.
He looks at me with an intense face,
Grim
Like I have an illness more serious than cancer.
My heart starts pounding, I'm afraid
I ask
"What is it doc?"
No ones perfect but god they say
That was before i arrived that wintery day
I'm so funny i make the girls laugh
If their the one i'll mention my past
My eyebrows stay perfecty shaped to the T
