ME TO MYSELF: FLAWED BUT #FLAWLESS

Sometimes, I want to go back in time.

To go back and tell my young self that she is beautiful.

That people love her because of her offbeat sense of humor.

Or because of the way her eyes light up when she laughs.

That people love her for her kind heart.

I want to tell her not to worry so much about her flaws,

Like her crooked teeth or chubby cheeks.

I want to tell her that those things will change,

That they will change because she will connect with her inner warrior,

And that instead of waiting for everyone else to change she instead decides to change herself.

That she will finally learn the true power of self-love

and everyone else’s opinions won’t matter so much anymore.

But of course I can’t go back in time. I can’t tell her all the things that she needs to know.

But I know that one day she will realize that despite all of her flaws she is #FLAWLESS.

Because #FLAWLESS is not what you look like,

#FLAWLESS is a state of mind.
