I am not your fairytale Princess. I never get the guy.
I'm not the beautiful girl with a tragic backstory.
I'm just me. A little bit ordinary. A little bit plain. Not the princess kind.
Once upon a time, in a kingdom far away,
There was a beautiful tiger princess.
And every prince from near and far
Tried their best to win her heart.
The tiger princess was kind and good,
Bell was a poor girl, but she was smart
She had no time for men, only the arts.
One day he came, with the tongue of a snake
Told her pray and he’d take her away
From all the poverty, soreness, and shame
It is 2017.
The Great United States is almost 250 years old,
250 years of experience and struggles
Yet men and women are still not equal
I am not Cinderella
But I happen to have her shoe size
A coy smile
And I’ve come to the conclusion
That this
Is enough
For a man
I am not Cinderella
But I happen to have her shoe size
A coy smile
And I’ve come to the conclusion
That this
Is enough
For a man
Once upon a time
The little mermaid dreamed.
She dreamed of the sky
And the things unseen.
She wanted to walk, and to run, and to jump,
But most of all, she wanted a pup.
Dragons are so cruel,
As mean as they could be.
At least, thats what the world decided,
but it's not the case for me!
I need to edit the storybooks,
since they've forgot an important part.
Why must there always be a damsel in distress?
Waiting in her elegant dress, the Princess waits for Prince Charming to arrive,
So that he can rescue her from her tragic backstory and together forever thrive.
Belle
I live to protect my father
The villagers believe he's not well
Explain that he's a man of pure genius,
They'll just put both of us through Hell
I am perceived as
"the beauty"
Restless.
Waiting for her prince.
Her purpose.
Adhering to expectations
Carefully crafted by those before her.
Desiring to find her place
Within her tower.
The jewels and gold are worthless
