You

I’ve always feared being alone

Not the loneliness

Of being left home overnight

With the dog curled in your lap

Jumping at every small creak

No, no, no

Perpetual loneliness

That is my true fear

A never-ending Hell

No one to have or to hold

None of that romantic love humanity searches for

Muddling through life with no one at my side

Then, oh God, then I found you

You fill my heart

Full to burst

You make me hold on

Praying to God that I’ll never have to let go

You showed me the kind of love Rumi felt for Shams

You make me feel like no other

In the plainest of words

You make me feel good
