Wouldn't You Like to Know You're Loved?

When the opportunity arises to express love,

take it.

I hesitate: seconds later,

I’ve missed my chance.

A cold, heavy weight drops into my stomach;

drowning disappointment, I sink further each moment…

I’m jolted awake-

Take control!

It’s never too late!

Run to that person: say what you’ve always wanted to

wrap them in your embrace.

If you truly care, show it-

you may never be this lucky again,

don’t let it slip away.

What is kindness without action?

Be brave, I tell myself. That’s all it takes…

Sure enough,

it feels better to know I took a leap of faith.

Nothing is more valuable than this

yet, it costs nothing to give.
