The Woman I Wished To Be

I become more like the woman I wished to be everyday

I wear golden rings

And keep mints in my bag

Car keys in my pocket

And wear a signature perfume

I try to make my bed everyday

And do my hair nicely

Wash my clothes on Friday

And wear a new lip color

I buy myself coffees

And read books for pleasure

Take the long way home to hear my one song

And wear mom jeans

I buy big earrings

And hang posters on my walls

Listen to oldies radio

And cut my own hair

I become more like the woman I wished to be everyday
