When We Say Goodbye

We do not know

When we say goodbye

Because tomorrow

Only belongs to God in the sky

We do not know

About the last glance

About the last song

Even if we are young and strong

About the last dance

About the deadly arrow

Where it is pointed

We simply don’t know

Even though we are loved and anointed

The last day comes like a flash

The last breath like a dash

Evanescing before our eyes

To bring pain and sadness

Life is a phenomenal mess

God hears our cries

The cries of our brothers and sisters

God hears our prayers

God sees our heartbreaking tears

God sees how we damp and douse the pews

When we walk away

We do not know

When we’ll pass away

We do not know

About tomorrow

We do not know

About the very last day

We do not know

When we say goodbye

If another hello

Will take place under this sky

We simply don’t know

About tomorrow.

P.S. This poem is dedicated to all of us.
