What They've Found

They all look so happy

Cue smiles and laughter, no sign of any real disaster

I try to linger in the aura of what they’ve found,

What they’ve found…what have they found?

How do I slip into its skin?

Up at 1 am doing this and that trying to find what they’ve found

The burn feels good, this their formula, it should release in me what they’ve found

No

Still heavy

Unsteady

Looks in the mirror, already forgetting me

Do I dare say this is worse, harder to fight the urge for a green light

no more fight

Can’t remember who I consider the red light for

Girl doubled over in laughter, crinkled eyes and hot cheeks parallel

Girl doubled over in aches, dark eyes, too ashamed to tell you

I’m having a lot of trouble, finding what they’ve found.
