What Makes Me Feel Good.

Mon, 10/03/2016 - 15:30 -- mdlol1

Waking in the morning in a country that is free.

Smiling in the mirror because you are blessed to be healthy.

Looking up above to see a roof over your head,

feeling thankful for the little things, like having a nice warm bed.

Using the restroom, it’s a blessing on its own.

many people aren't lucky enough to have their own porcelain throne.

Washing your hands with water that is clean,

While you know there is someone somewhere that can only wash in a stream.

Taking a warm shower that seems to kiss your skin,

You then have thoughts that bubble up within.

The fact that you can think, laugh, or cry.

You have senses, and that gift some poor souls are deprived.

You stand on two feet that can take you anywhere.

You gently run a brush through your head of hair.

Some folks do not have either of those but they don't care.

They find their own happiness in their own little way,

And I will find mine in my life, day to day.

The present is a gift, hence the name.

We mustn't ever let a day go in vain.

Walking outside into the bright sun,

And realizing how lucky you were to come.

To come to an earth so clean and pure

Full of little things that I promise can cure

The saddest heart and the weakest smile

Can't help but laugh every once in awhile.

A broken heart will mend

There will always be a happy end.

Look for the beautiful little things,

And you will see how incredible life can be.
