Thank You

Mon, 02/03/2014 - 02:50 -- xeneeah

I told you I loved you.

I told you so often I began to believe it.

I lied to you every day we spent together.

I told you that I loved you.

I told you so often that I swore it was the truth.

I lied to your face every time you held me tight.

We said goodbye.

We parted with tears in our eyes,

But that goodbye took the world off my shoulders.

I was free.

I was free to be me.

Free from the shackles of that false love,

And I’m sorry.

I’m sorry I lied to you for so long.

I’m sorry for the hell I dragged us both through.

Thank you though.

Thank you for not giving up on me until the very end.

Thank you for teaching me my most valuable lesson,

To never hurt my best friend.

Because in the end when I was left alone,

Even though I didn’t love you,

I sure as hell did appreciate you.
