Taking Action

Tue, 02/11/2014 - 12:35 -- Sonjia

Homeless individuals sleep with dreams of what they used to be
Now they have moved on leaving the new generation drowning sea to sea
No education, no temptation, to get a dream fulfilled
they are just seeing what they are believing until their dreams are killed

More people on the streets than inside, warm, or loved
now they are being swept away, taken away by the calling of drugs
We all care, we all donate, and give to charities to help those in need
But do we understand why we all need this inner peace

Not for the fame or the bandwagon of what others think
but for the love and touch that they can receive.
Though I wasn't the person on the other side of the rope
On the side that burns and disconnects from another side leaving no inner getaway slope

We all take the easy way out through the hardships and troubles we face
Never for our blood to be one color or one thing away to forget our own trace
We are all Built with kindness, madness, sadness, or anything destructive feeling to our kind
We use it to explain how we feel and how to get connected with those with a similar mind

It doesn't all come so easy ,life is a gift , it can either be taken away or given to
We all must cherish our positions, because their are those in poverty having nothing to do
So we sit looking at the window watching a day of our life pass before our lives
Then we sleep waiting for a new life in our mind come alive, in the cold winter night.
