He doesn't know what the sunrise
looks like, He hasn't seen it in a while,
He rises in the afternoon, because
his nights are filled with fear and
gloom.

She doesn't let him touch her skin,
she's built a wall, and won't let
nobody in, she's afraid she'll be,
loved, she's numb to the feeling.

All he really needs is some
motivation, all she really needs is a
man with patience, soon they'll find
that with time, peace will fill their
hearts. Their eyes will see the
sunrise, for the first time.

He doesn't know how to love his
daughter, his past is full of abuse,
filth, and somber, he expects her to
be a fighter, but all she truly wants is
her father.

She doesn't think that she'll live
through the night, her body's weak
and her lungs feel tight, she can
not move, through her tears, she
views the moon.

All he really needs is to feel safe, all
she really needs is a little faith, soon
they'll find that with time, peace will fill
their hearts, their eyes will see the
sunrise, for the first time.

He's never had a place called home,
his mother left him, and now he's
grown, his life's a scary place, with
no one to rest his head on.

She's never worked a day in her life,
she's used to taking, never giving
advice, her emeralds and pearls
shine brighter, than her soul.

All he really needs is a little guidance,
all she really needs is a life that's
priceless, soon they'll find that with
time, peace will fill their hearts, their
eyes will see the sunrise, for the first
time.
