Shallow Love

Attracted to your glimmering mirage,

blind to the consequences.

Sweet poison dripping from your lips,

numbing my senses.

Dancing in the palm of your hand,

take away my pride.

Suggestions laced with force,

hands tied.

Addicted to your touch,

soft pressing of fingertips.

Eyes dark and deep,

drowning in your lunar eclipse.

Sweet talk to cover up wounds,

your scratches and bites.

Drowning in your paradise,

falling from your heights.

Your love,

gives me a thrill.

A cold smile,

swallows my freedom like a pill.

These empty words,

forever trapped in this polaroid.

Fill this worthless heart,

end this lonely void.

Never to be free like a mourning dove,

forever a prisoner to your shallow love.
