sex & adolescence

we are children in the dark,

only able to see by the light

of the reflections of our skin in the moonlight.

white like the stars,

white like satin or like

milk,

the drink our parents told us would

make us stronger,

but baby,

we are strong enough on our own.

strong enough to pretend to know what we are doing

in the dark,

we

are

the dark, consuming

each other

and calling it love.
