See, Listen and Feel

Wed, 11/20/2019 - 16:55 -- CrisFDC

Stuck on a phone that’s stuck to me

Bombarded by images of what we should be

Being told who I should follow

Leaving me feeling empty and hollow

I just see, I listen, and I feel

The heroes among us are very real

I put the phone down

And I look around

Its in my friends and in my peers

I see warriors facing their fears

I just see, I listen, and I feel

The heroes among us are very real

Seeing my sister as she cried

For our friend whose child had died

My classmate who has come to know

That cancer has become his bitter foe

I just see, I listen, and I feel

The heroes among us are very real

People simply making ends meet

Others struggling just to eat

When feeling less than who you are

I never look too far

I just see, I listen, and I feel

The heroes among us are all too real
