Remembering

The days continue as they always have,
But they aren't quite the same.
A hole has opened in my chest
To know that it will be a while till we meet again.

I won't get to see you in this life anymore,
I won't see you on this earth.
But surely when my time has come,
I'll hug you with great mirth.

We'll talk and laugh and dance for joy,
We'll catch up on what was missed.
And I know within my heart and soul
That knowing you, I was blessed.

For now, your friends and family wait
For the day of our reunion.
While you help you heavenly Brother
With your new and glorious mission.

The pictures of your smiles will be kept,
The memories never fading.
As we continue through our lives
Never forgetting, always remembering.
