A Painter of Another Day

I am a Painter of Another Day

Another sleepless night,

Another day avoiding glances,

Another day pretending to be happy,

Anothr fake smile,

And another day hiding the scars covering my skin.

Anothr day where the sun is shinning,

But I cannot see the light.

Everyone tells me that it will be alight;

My friends say things will get better

But I cannot see the light.

I hear their whispers behind my back,

Behind the closed doors,

Behind the walls where ears lay pressing

To catch a whisper of what they truely think.

Another sleepless night,

Another day avoiding glances,

Another day pretending to be happy,

Another fake smile,

And another day adding to the scars on my wrists,

On my thighs.

Tiny red marks that appear on my skin

Like paint on a canvas;

I am a painter

Who cannot see the light.

I am a painter

Who struggles to survive another day,

Another day without the light.
