Oasis

Her mind lives in a beautiful oasis,

A bright blue ocean, vast and lively.

Filled with terror and past experiences.

Roaming the halls for security.

Flashbacks, dark images, and childhood nightmares.

Through the disarray and damaged dreams,

Sympathy that means nothing sinks in too deep.

Inability to control fear.

Crashing waves of emotions leads to drowning.

Clinging to the idea of safety.

Repressed memories boiling each angry thought.

Beauty never lost in the chaos.
