Needle and Thread

Paper's there to listen when the earth has tuned me out,

Poetry's the pillow that takes my angry shout,

And writing is the friend that never fails to say, "Hello."

It doesn't need to rhyme and it doesn't need to flow--

My head's a spool of feelings, strings cut by a knife,

But take some ink and write them down--

It stitches up my life.

Though this is short and sweet, it is an excellent interpretation of why you write. The first line, where you write "the world's" I think you mean "the world has," so I think it would be best you change it, so it would mean what you meant. The very next line after that, of poetry being your pillow to scream into, is very powerful imagery. Thank you for sending this in.
