My truest color

I am me,

The only version there is to see.

Filters included, false perception,

Illusion of perfection.

#nofilter, exposure to the true me.

Let my imperfections shine,

What the filters once hid.

Makeup, edits,

Enhance my features, enhance my beauty.

Yet, it is not me.

No makeup, no edits, reveal my flaws,

Uncover the purist version of me.

Disclose my color, my truest self.

Pail skin, dark hair, freckles everywhere.

See my scars, let them show.

A Latina,

Represent my roots, hold my head up high.

This is me, #nofilter here.

I am proud to be,

The only version there is to see,

I am me.
