Mulligrubs

You sit in the dark
Your face barely illuminated
You cry your heart out
As your fingers ghost over the words

She doesn't understand
You are confused and scared
She tries to help
But she will never be able to

She can't know what it's like
You don't deserve her
You tell yourself
You don't

She cries like you do
Reading the words
She wipes her eyes
'I love you.'

You don't respond
She types it so many times
You don't believe her
She types it over and over

She has to be lying, you said
She typed it over and over
Begging you to speak to her
You didn't respond

She bit her lip and typed
'Talk to me when you're ready.'
You looked at those words
And began to cry.
