Mirrors

Everytime I look in a mirror

I don’t recognize the person

staring back.

Who is this person hiding

under the designer clothes

and makeup?

Is it me who

tries to compete

at all costs?

But girls aren’t supposed to act

like that.

The girl in the mirror dresses

how everyone else wants her

to dress…

and how she should

act like a “girl.”
