In the Middle of the Night

Going into the dark chambers of your mind

Where the voices whisper

The hands claw

Waking up in a cold sweat

Gasping for breath

Longing for air

No, you won't go back there

Gulping water to quench your throat dried from screams

Slowly floating away from your nightmare

Close yours eyes, heart beats still

Open them again, it's still there

You reach for a book, turn on the light

Looks like you won't be sleeping tonight
