Mi Morenita

Mi Morenita

Everywhere I looked, clouds were dark and gray

A misery has caught me in a cage

And every day became a mental fray.

Yet youthful years were plagued with olden age

My life seemed faded, withering til death.

But she came and pulled me back together

In need of someone to give life new breath

She lifted darkness as it were a feather

Never allow happiness, for it lies

She gave me light when I was consumed

Offered hope as she healed what was inside

Yet I was stricken with eternal wounds

I think of our love every single day

This gift is one I can never repay
