Memory

The laugh, the voice

My mind can't place it

So familiar, yet so far away

Two strangers lie intertwined

Bodies bare and warm

Like a small pool of summer amidst the winter storm

Carefree and open...

SMACK!

The fog lifts in an instat

Breath leaves my lungs

Evacuates at the sound of the alarm

The laugh, the voice

Heart pounds

Heavy

Panic shoves logic aside

Like a bully on the playground

It's not him

But my body doesn't understand
