A Lullaby for War

Location

Don't look now, child

The world has gone to war

They don't care that you're just a child

To them, you're one soldier more.

-

Those aren't gunshots you hear now

Those aren't dying screams

Your virgin eyes are so innocent now

While safety has been reduced to a dream.

-

Close your eyes, precious babe

Someday, we'll be safe again

If we wake, precious babe

The world will lie still and slain.
